Remote Desktop troubleshooting

- “Unable to connect because of security policy”
- This is usually caused by Duo not getting an approval in a timely manner.
- Remember that you need your phone in close proximity in order to log in and that the phone needs to be connected to the internet
- Push notifications need to be enabled for Duo Push
- Duo Push notifications not being received
- Push notifications need to be enabled for Duo on the device
- Duo Push app not activated - Help Desk must re-send activation link
- Device not connected to the internet
- "Remote Desktop Unavailable"
- A problem with connecting to the target computer (SFO desktop); desktop could be asleep or shut down
- Popup warning regarding unknown or unverified certificate
- This is a known issue; the certificate is valid and it’s safe to click affirmatively through it
