• Passwords expire every 90 days
  • Passwords must contain at least 10 characters
  • Passwords must not contain the user's account name or parts of the user's full name that exceeds two consecutive characters.
  • Passwords must contains characters from three of the following categories:
    • Uppercase letters
    • Lowercase letters
    • Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
    • Non-alphanumeric characters (special characters) (for example, !, $, #, %)
Tips and suggestions:
  1. Try to create a password that can be easily remembered.
  2. Take a long word or short phrase and substitute capital letters, numbers, or special characters that look similar to the ones in the word or phrase (use 5 for s, 1 or ! for l or I, 3 for e, etc.). For example, start with "suddenly last summer" and modify it to the password "5Udd3n!y!a5T5Umm3R"
  3. Base your password on a song title, affirmation, or other phrase. For example, the phrase might be: "This May Be One Way to Remember" and the password could be: "TmB1w2R!" or "Tmb1W>r~".

Passwords should never be written down, stored on your computer, or shared with anyone, including your manager and anyone in IS.
