How to turn off the chiming sound on your computer

Is your new Windows 10 computer constantly chiming when your computer is not in use? Here's how to turn it off.

1. Use the search bar on your computer (lower left hand corner) to locate 'Control Panel'. Once you type 'Control Panel', you will see a result in the navigation bar. Click on the Control Panel desktop app

2. Within the Control Panel window, click on 'Sound'.

3. In the Sound window, go to the 'Sounds' tab.

a) Within the tab, under Program Events, click on Device Connect.

b) While selected, go to the Sounds dropdown and select (None).

c) Then under Program Events, click on Device Disconnect.

d) While selected, go to the Sounds dropdown and select (None).

e) Click Ok to finish!
